Please forgive me for the gratuitous shot of the station platform at the beginning. The train got here quite a bit faster than I was expecting and the camera was refusing to focus properly down the tracks so I had to give it something to focus on. The weather shelter was just what it needed.
PNWR 3052 (built as an SD-45 for the Cotton Belt under the number 9153, since downgraded to SD40-2 status) and 2309 'Philomath' (a GP39-2 built for the ATSF and numbered 3608) are working like hell to pull their train past the Hall/Nimbus WES station late at night. The train whistles for the distant Scholls Ferry Road crossing, the bells of which can briefly be heard even though it is at least 3/4 of a mile away from here.
The video cutting short just after the power passes was not my choice but it was fortunate. The entire time this train was coming towards me, I could see the 'Low Battery' icon flashing on the screen. Fearful it would die before the train reached me, it managed to hold on just long enough for the units to pass so when the video ends is the same moment the battery checked out. Talk about luck!
@4449steam - There was a lot more train than just those two center beams... :-P
