@deslm The original instrument is the one that Finn plays,it has 3 double strings and is played mostly for solos...So yes,it is better for countermelodies...

Alec is the man! THIS is the bouzouki at its best...am not a fan of the chord-strumming style on this instrument. Countermelodies suit this instrument far better as far as I'm concerned.

Although Alec is definitely the elder statesman, you really must check out Mick Conneely and Jonas Fromseier :)
