Many ebay users claim that new plans to force users to use PayPal (or COD - Cash on Delivery) as their only methods of payment are unfair.

Some unhappy sellers, many of whom make a living from their eBay stores, have even taken eBay to the ACCC for anti-competitive behaviour.

The changes come into efect on June 17th. Although eBay has held forums to face opposition to the changes, many discussions are said to have been fiery.

  • It's a shame the Sunrise hosts weren't better prepared to quiz Alastair. The topic is quite meaty, and unless a presenter spends a few hours going over all the paypal and eBay issues, they have no come-back to Alastair's argument's that almost seem 'reasonable' if they weren't so flawed.

  • Basicly he's saying government denominations are no good. Or he is saying that a certified bank check is no good. It's BS.

  • Is Ebay management prepared to give me their credit card details is I give them mine?

  • not any more Alastair ........... the ACCC slammed this stupid idea

they saw right through your half truths

  • what a crock of.....infomercial, he could go sell the steam mops and twirly dusters if ever he gets sick of working for ebay.

  • Oh yea sure right, real honest company. ebay

cares soooooooo much and wants to make sure

they are taking care of you.

  • The guy is as credible and convincing as Charles Manson protesting his innocence. His body language reeks of dishonesty and lies.

  • On the plus side he did mention the 30c fee rather than ignore it.

However, Sunrise didn't sink it's teeth into the story, all this was was an Infomercial on behalf of eBay's policy decision...if that is the case, then how much did eBay pay Sunrise for the appearance?

An ad masquerading as a news piece provides legitimacy for that which is being pushed.

Paypal as an option fine, only reasonable (for Interstate Aussies) option...sucks.

    That's feebay for you.

  • Wow, so much hot air coming out of AG's mouth he has to keep flapping his arms and hands about! Or is he feeling a bit hot under the collar? Totally not convincing me, or himself for that matter!

  • What a lot of fuckery
