Islam's Gandhi - 03-03-2009

I often get asked about my new book 'Islam's Gandhi' and I guess that many - certainly Westerners - are intrigued by the title. Islam as a label is given a set of associations in the West that seem to be at odds with the associations that are ascribed to Gandhi, so a moment of intrigue and confusion often arises at the mention of the book's title. This video is simply my thoughts on what lead me to write this book and why I think that it is important.

a muslim is a noun for one who submits to the Lord, Creator. just as your purpose of making this video, was to get this message out. the purpose of humanity's existence is to worship the one who created them, out of doing that in this temporary life, we are promised an life of eternal peace and pleasure. given so much that we wont have anything else to ask for from Allah.

So much gets vilified just by bad apples. Propaganda of any kind gets on my nerves. All in the world I wish should try not judge a book by it's cover. Sad when power gets corrupted and things go extremeist angry. All history has its good and bad to much. I wish people open minded learning, peace, and love. I am glad that you have embarked upon writing this book. Ustadh Mahmoud's story is destined to fill volumes of inspirational writings. It is all documented and recorded.

About Ustadh mahmoud's trial and execution you mentioned here that "The current government did declare that arrest, trial and execution illegal". This is not accurate. The trial was annuled during the democractically elected government that followed the popular uprise that ended Nimerie's regime.
