I bought 8 and I am so angry! Instead of spending 300 on 8 I will gladly spend 2000 to get Apple. Of course, according to Microsoft I'm the idiot, I should get it if only I had their IQ. Their "attitude" is fine by me, I'm just gonna go someplace else no matter what the cost. 8 crashes all the freaking time! Why would they do this to me? What did I ever do to them?

As I have told other commentors, there's no need to be insulting here. Calling other people ignorant won't make you more right.

At any rate, regardless of how long it takes people to learn the operating system, Windows 8 is still slow, clunky, and not designed for desktops. It's a tablet OS at heart, and this shines through in nearly every facet of its design (e.g. the inefficient "flipping" effect).

By the way, a tutorial shouldn't be necessary to figure out an OS. Just saying.

There's a tutorial that shows you how everything works when you first start windows. Again, ignorant.

what's terrible is your opinion seeing as clearly you are wrong. Everything is compatible with everything as long as the right software and knowledge is applied and clearly sir you lack all knowledge

Actually, Linux has many free and open source alternatives to Windows programs. For those who need to original Windows program for some reason, Wine, a Windows compatibility layer, is available to run most Windows programs on Linux.

There's also more to an operating system than just the amount of software available for it. The Linux kernel is immune to viruses - literally all known Linux viruses have been patched already. In addition, Linux manages memory more efficiently than Windows.

The one thing I don't understand is: Why would you want to go back to the tiles. I hate them. There's an app that adds the start button back to the desktop and Microsoft will be bringing the start button back in SP1, so the active tiles, that is just the start button turned into a Windows 98 active desktop with over sized icons, will no longer be an issue. On the whole, Windows 8 is a more annoying version of Windows 7.
