That's one skinmny but seriously cute pony!

i have a very spooky horse. she's very quite in the paddock but as soon as you get on her, she's suddenly scared of everything!! i honestly don't think it's me because I've ridden horses a lot before :/

I have already done many join ups and work with horses who have been abused it's really great to have such a band with a horse
-
@shawnpine97 Gain her trust, join ups and gentle lunging is great. Work on this until you have complete trust and she is ready for new things, as her owner you should be able to tell when this is. Be out with her every day, brushing, walking around and putting on the halter on and off. After doing a join up add some spice, tie some plastic bags around your working area but always consider your safety and let her get used to it first incase she bolts or rears. Keep working with new things :)

everyone has an opinion.. the world is full of "horse trainers"- they all know everything! but at least this woman is kind. decent information.

@shawnpine97 i'm pretty much in the same situation i am buying a 4 year old quarter/morgan cross, and shes not broke and has no ground manners. lol
well that was fast! her join up with you. FAST. Seems like a push button horse to me...

@Ghorseyluver I think I mentioned that no, she *isn't* a push button horse. I don't happen to like having 'push button' horses around - I like horses who can think and make choices! :)

I'm curious about the bells on her.
She's quite gorgeous... Honestly, this is the kind of work I would like to do with the horses that I train. Unfortunately, when they're not your horses and the owners don't agree with your methods, you have to do it as you're told otherwise you risk loss of job... O_o
Does this make sense?

@BarellRacing4Ever Bells were just for 'decoration' -- but can be used to help establish rhythm in the gaits. ...
If people know your 'style' in working with horses then they will call you specifically for that. Others may not like what you do - in that case, its up to you whether or not to accept the work. I 'warn' people who call that I don't work in the 'normal' way with horses. I explain a bit about what I do and they can take it or leave it. It's up to them. :)
