  • Adjusting the "kompressor" is the last thing you want to do. See the other comment for some sound advice.

  • You need to set your grinder to a finer setting, overdose the portafilter and level off, tamp a little more even and harder then twist the tamper. Also be sure to tamp with about 30lbs of pressure and keep your arm straight while tamping.

On my stock Gaggia Espresso, i pull a nice double shot w/o blonding using a super jolly grinder in 25 seconds. Your machine is fine, You just need to work on your skill set, grind, and maybe fresher beans. Just keep working at it; you'll get there!

  • Hey buddy that shot pulled in 8 seconds! You need to adjust your pump's kompressor till it's pulling a shot in the 17-21 seconds range. I don't know if the Gaggia has an adjustable kompressor, but I use a Krupps, and if you take off the water tank you'll find the kompressor with a little knob on the side. Good luck, and enjoy the espresso, friend!
