Both Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia broke their pacts of non-aggression with Poland, Russia broke the pact of 1932 and Germany of 1934 in order to be able to sign Soviet-German Pact of Non-Aggression called Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact signed in 1939 against Poland as a revenge for Poland's victory in the Battle of Warsaw in 1920.

It's bad nothing's been mentioned in the movie about the very important Battle of Warsaw in 1920 wherein Soviet Bolshevism was given the most ignominious defeat by the hands of the Polish-Ukrainian troops thus stemming the influx of communism into all Western Europe as well.Generally the Polish-Bolshevik war in 1919-1921 changed the history of Europe. Then between 1938-41 combined Soviet-German forces took revenge on the Polish intelligentsia and officers in their cowardly massacres with no war.

Thank you for posting this. I read "Under the Sign of the Scorpion..." by Juri Lina some years ago and was horrified at what I learned. I have found it very hard to get this across to other people, most of whom do not read to learn anymore.

The next step would be to have it translated verbally into English. More English speaking people may watch this then. And this is not to take away what we have here.

The good things, grapes, apples, peaches, oranges, etc. was NOT for the Indians. Nor honey. Not milk or butter or cheese.

The Natives were forced to convert to xtianity, work the lands now owned by the church, forced to learn the trade the monks wanted, were whipped if they refused, the Nativs ere never allowed to leave the "Mision "-but forced to stay by the soldiers. THe women were raped by the Sp., and/or married accordg to the behest of the monks.

Food the Indians grew was mainly corn & some vegs, not deer meat,or wild turkey.

But Communism isn't new! It's been alive and well all these centuries, under xtianity.

Under the later Caesars, the church had "latifundias"- plantations where slaves worked the land, these slaves were deliberately bred together, and sold.

Later, in the "New Word" the church did the same with the Natives, rounding them up, putting them in "Repartimiendtos"- another name for plantations. This is what the Americans know as "Misiones. From Calif. to Paraguay, these were run by monks & jesuits.
