Here's a great old fiddle tune! As well known as it is, I don't think it gets played enough =D
Thanks for Watching!

  • Great job! TIS should be played more, and I'll make it a point to do just that. To NorthTulsaBoy's comment about "really gettin' down with their music, The April Verch Band is a must listen. If you notice in her videos, there's always someone standin' of to the side with a fire extinguisher in case her fiddle spontaneously ignites. ;) Those Canadian fiddlers do the music proud..

  • Nice video! Your fiddle playing is amazing. This tune is allegedly related to "The Rose Tree", so I made a medley of them on my channel. They only sort of sound alike to me though.

  • @sizefam4

Yes, sir, right over here in Tulsa Town. : )

I noticed that a friend (in Sapulpa) subscribed to your channel, so I checked it out and decided to do the same.

Do you happen to like Irish Traditional fiddlers like Michael Coleman, Kevin Burke, Frankie Gavin, or Tommy Peoples, etc. ?

Those guys really get down with the music at times.

  • Boy do I agree with the comments about TIS -- it is a fabulous tune and you seldom hear it. Great job -- here. You really took nice advantage of the double stops on the B-part. Fine fiddlin!

  • Great job, Gary! I agree old classics like Turkey In the S!raw and its closely related variation known as Natchez Under the Hill don't get played nearly enough. The same goes for the very catchy Opera Reel that was very popular during the Civil War.

  • i like the way you play tunes on the fiddle
