SNV Double Scooter Lift: Part 2 (Unloading)

SpecialNeedsVehicles has developed a Double Scooter Lift.

This is the first Scooter Lift designed to lift and transport two Scooters simultaneously for couples (or partners) both needing scooters for mobility independence. This is the first generation design and we are already reviewing how we can eliminate the need for the sloping platform and extending the retraction of the platform deeper into the vehicle to allow for rear mounted appliances such as cane holders, baskets, or oxygen tanks.

This product is first being installed in a 2007 Toyota Sienna, and from technical review will work with the Honda Odyssey, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Chrysler Town and Country. With the Dodge or Chrysler minivans models 2008 or newer, two larger scooters such as the Pride REVO 4 wheel scooter will fit in the third row seating position. This first generation design utilized 2 Pride Go-Go Elite 3 wheeled scooters as desired by the customer. The only restrictions on the scooter choices are the combined weight of the scooters cannot exceed 275 pounds, and the combined width of the two scooters cannot exceed the width of the rear van section less 8 inches.
