Everything a true prophet says does come to pass. Joesph Smith made some prophecies that did not come true. However one has to conclude that he was a false prophet. I can give reference if needed.
I don't trust angels of light. Mohammed was also visited by an angel and that's why we have Islam. I don't believe half the doctrine and many of your top leaders are freemasons aka Luciferians. Some of the symbols and rituals are even the same. research it..
John was referring to the book of Revelation in that prophecy. If he meant the Bible, many of the early Apostles would have receive that curse because the book of Revelation wasn't the last book in the Bible to be written. It was only compiled as the last book.
Latter-day Saints preach from the Bible as well. They preach the same gospel that the early Apostles taught.

You should really take the chance to read the Book of Mormon. You'll find that you will come closer to God by reading it.
