Trillium 1859 passes through a crossing on the outskirts of Welland. I've only seen this engine a handful of times. Over the last month or month and a half it seems they're using it alot more. It's a Montreal Locomotive Works RS18 with 1800 HP which is a little more then the normal 1000HP locomotives they use. I think it's due to the fact that they're getting busier and the trains in general are longer and consist of more weight mostly due the business they get from Lakeside Steel. From what I read, this engine was being used in St Thomas/Eastern Railway up until fairly recent.
Thanks for watching
Great vid! 1859 is relatively new to Trillium, they got it from Ottawa Central. At least Trillium has got something with a standard cab. 1800hp certainly helps too. TR has a few hill grades that would need extra horsepower if pulling extra cars. Although, trust me its not picking up. The Grimsby Sub hasn't gotten any better. Its very slowly deteriorating. Next year around now the St. Thomas Ford plant is closing, likely meaning no more autoparts through here. We can only hope it will get better.

The number looks pretty familiar. I think I've seen it in St. Thomas.
