This meet was really early in the season. Mark Oberle of Morton beat Tyno Carter of Richwoods early in the meet in the 3200 and then again in the 1600. In the 1600 those two allowed me, a lowly junior, to run with them for the first 3.25 laps (however I had to do so from lane 2). You can't see it, but Oberle wins in around 4:28. It was one of the first outdoor meets of the season. Mark and I would later become teammates at Bradley. Tyno went to West Point and was a top runner there. He had incredible form when running.
