I still dont understand why the African Cup of Nations is held every 2 yrs. Its a great competition but it should be held every 4 yrs like every other continental championship. I think thats the real issue rather than what time of the year its held.

@mromz89 yeah and if it is going to be held every 2 years, there is no need to hold it midseason when it is not being held in Northern African countries. There are only a handful of countries that have those extreme weather conditions, they could hold it in the summer this time around and in Jan only when needed
