I listened to Johnny doing the play by play on radio. He was so excited that it was difficult to understand what he said.
The guy wires which held the backboard steady, were responsible for causing a change in the trajectory of of the inbounds play. This came from someone on the Celts team.
This rivalry was larger than Celts/Lakers at that time.

almost accurate...Hal Greer's inbounding pass came from UNDER the 76ers basket, not from mid-court...but i like it........
