Short biographical video which was made for Charles Durning's lifetime achievement award at the Hoboken International Film Festival in 2007. I didn't want it to go to waste after its showing so I uploaded it here some time ago. Rest in Peace, Charles. 1923-2012

What a wonderful screen character actor among a host of those of his profession who rarely if ever got top billing like Wilfred Brimley, Hal Holbrook, Brian Dennehey and others but whose characterisations really made so many of the films we all loved over the years. He appeared in so many he seemed like a family member. And he was so good at what he did you couldn't imagine the parts he played being played by anyone else. We will remember you with great affection Mr Durning.

He was a hero, no question; a certified badass. But the medal of honor is the nation's highest military honor.

Charle s Durning was not only one of the best character actors, but he was a national hero. One of the first men to land on D-Day, he earned 3 silver stars and the nation's highest military honor - The Purple Heart. He really did "side-step" danger, May he find his place in heaven, without any side-step. He will be greatly missed..

I loved him as Father Hubley on "Everybody Loves Raymond". Brilliant acting on his part for an "occasional" role. A sad loss in movies and TV. He was an underappreciated great one.
