Every little bit helps. That change adds up fast! The bells are annoying though I think. And why is this done only a month a year? Why is it that we only think of the needy in this way during the holidays? People need help all year round, which I know the SA does things year round. I don't like the fact that people seem to only contribute during the holidays.
When I lived in Cleveland I couldn't find a job ANYWHERE and they Home owners discriminated against people from out of state so no one would let me rent. I depended on the SA as well for things. Thank God for them, but it's just sad how needed in Cleveland they actually are. Terrible economy.
I've been volunteering to ring at the Salvation Army for years now, we're ringing early this year because of the hard times. They've been the only reason my family's had christmas, before.
