So this guy Lutz (vice Chairman GM) - who gave us gas guzzelling SUV's, Hummers and 4 DVD players in a Chevy van, who owns 2 helicopters and 2 jets, who denies the manmade causes of global warning and who just a few years ago ordered all of GM's existing electric cars (cost: approx. $1 billion) to be crushed and melted for scrap - is part of the 'team' that now wants a $30 billion bailout !! This, so he can help save the auto industry and the environment by developing electric cars!!!!

@khmerog1 hhhhhmmmm. thank for that. you have some good ideas. but i think the power industry needs to change first before the motor industry. far more fossil fuels are burned in power stations than in cars, and even the electric cars use power from coal power plants, get my point?

@oomblikkies You are right I never thought about all the batteries that will be thrown away. That is most def a long term problem for electric cars.

@ceed4eva you ever heard of HYDRO ELECTRICITY? I live in Canada and British Columbia (the province on the west) Most of their electricity is from Hydro (rivers, water spinning turbines).

What USA needs is not just non-oil car but they need maybe more of a train system. Why does everyone person need to drive a car to work? Why not put a rail road system on city main roads.

8:16 - Just a few years ago the phrase "Clean Coal" were constantly being used in the media. Now it doesn't look like it's clean anymore.

This Roadster car is a hoax. Running 40 kilos on electricity generated from gasoline means nothing and to plug the car's battery into a home socket is just again shifting the source of electricity to the coal power station. And then on top of all this is all batteries do have a finite lifetime and will certainly create over time a huge waste disposal problem. And all this nonsense when science tells us mankind is not reponsible for global warming.

water. that's all you need. the reason why this tech is kept off the market, is because if we don't control the economy of the world, thru oil, we ca't keep people debt slaves... the truth is, since the end of WWII, the trillions and trillions that the military have used to develope and patent, and apply, only for themselves, has been YOUR money. and it's time. thru the law, to get these realities, to the people. the people.
