Part 2 of 3 on installing the Fun and Easy Solderless touchscreen kit for an Acer Aspire One Netbook. You can get this kit off of ebay for around $100. This part of the video deals with installing the actual hardware.

This installation is also outlined on my blog at http://www.logicalinsanity.net/?p=214

  • i have done the same as you on my aspire one and ai have a problem.

the toychscreen sticks on the screen as i touch it and this is getting bigger . i think in a week will be like an ugly sticked sticker with bubbles of air...

do you have the same problem?

  • That sucks! I haven't had anything like that happen with mine. Did you wash the screen before you placed the touch panel? If so, is it possible it wasn't completely dry? Has it been in a really humid area? My recommendation would be to remove the LCD bezel & remove, re-clean/dry the touch panel and LCD.

  • how much will it cost me to touch your heart?

  • $17.31 :-)

  • hey i have the same laptop and my bro broke the screen on it . so as i was looking for replacement on ebay i found the touch and ordered it an d also ordered the ram , 2 gb is the maximum tht worx on this model but only 1x2gb witch means one ram module wth tht amount of memory its PC2-5300 or pc 400/533/667(speeds) witch ever one will work. still waiting for parts and when i get thm i will install Windows 7 RC AKA the new windows and yes its free till august 20 2009 . wiil post coment soon

  • That sucks about breaking your screen - but it makes a great opportunity for an upgrade. I did the RAM upgrade as well...definitely improved performance (especially with online video streaming like Hulu, Netflix, etc)

  • omg... I love you ... I LOVE YOU ... is the first time in my life when I saw a girl doing something like this... roar .. :)) ..subscribed

  • great video!

TIP: when removing screws from any device the 1st few times:

#1) take a photo of the device

#2) print the photo as large as you can

#3) remove each screw, and tape it to the printout where you removed it from

then you shouldn't go wrong if you do it like that.

    next upgrade : SSD ? :P

I am having this same problem right now..I have been trying for about an hour and a half now to get the case to close all the way on the top half.. the connecter is too big and i cant for the life of me get if to fit in to that small area below the screen..

How did you do yours? I have tried placing it on the side, on the bottom, and diagonally against the screen.. nothing is working..

  • Shes hot! Can I fuck her?

  • great job, i just got an acer from a friend that didnt know the system recovery on boot, i fixed it for him even did the upgraded ram a new wireless card... after all the work and time i put into taking it apart and fixing it he says i can have it, what other major mods should i do? its the aoa110 model

  • I have a Aspire One ZG8 (AO531h)

It's a 10.1" LCD. If I get the correct size panel will it fit into my netbook? (Is the kit for ALL Aspire Ones?) I'm asking this because my netbook is the thin version, It's only about 3/4 of an inch thick.
