The James Caan Foundation (JCF) was set up in 2006 to fundamentally assist with educating some of the 6 million children in Pakistan currently not enrolled in schools. Furthermore, the JCF continues to support charities in the UK working towards a number of different initiatives ranging from cancer care to providing equal opportunities for youth, but it also seeks to promote greater awareness for the developing world.
James is chairman of the British Pakistan Foundation (BPF) which was founded and led by the British Pakistani Community and Friends of Pakistan at a critical moment in Pakistan's history. The BPF is dedicated to improving the socio-economic condition of the people of Pakistan using their unique approach which aims to encourage and support philanthropy amongst the British Pakistani Diaspora and to collectively use the intellectual & financial capital to improve and change Pakistan.

PAKISTAN FLOODS

Pakistan has been devastated by the worst natural disaster globally in recent times. With nearly 20 million people affected, 1600 lives lost, an area the size of Britain flooded and cholera and water borne diseases spreading rapidly through the affected areas, this disaster has become the priority of the James Caan Foundation. James has used the media extensively to raise awareness of the magnitude of the catastrophe and to bring attention to the West of the extent of help that is needed to aid Pakistan.

Looking Forward: Reconstruction and Rebuilding

After raising £100,000 for UNICEF to provide those affected with medication and water purification kits, James is now looking to the next stage of the emergency programme. SInce returning from Pakistan, James is committed to getting people's lives back on track as soon as possible and as such, has started the ball rolling in rebuilding villages. The James Caan Foundation is going to lead and run the entire programme, from selecting a village, to building houses, schools, hospitals and providing what we can to ensure those affected can return to normality as soon as possible. To help James give the people of Pakistan their dignity back, please donate to the James Caan Foundation.

James' Trip to Pakistan

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And as someone with a humanitarian conscience, James flew out to Pakistan to deliver his own aid; to meet with various aid agencies on the ground to understand the challenges facing them and to observe the remarkable work that they are doing; and to meet with state officials and the army to really find out what they are doing to help their own people.
