Verna Sings Superstar

While staying at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong in February 2005, we happened across a lounge singer named Verna. She captiviated us with her talent and her nightly sets. She has an uncanny audio resemblence to Karen Carpenter, in our opinion, and we would request song after song after song from her. If you are ever in Hong Kong, stop by the Conrad and let me know if Verna is still there.

she's pretty good, but listening to other singers do this, makes you really appreciative of karen's vocal mastery at supporting and shaping each note, i've heard karen singing live and i never observed not a even a second of pitchiness in her voice.

The fact that she sounded that good with that horrible camera mic and all the background noise is really something. Don't know who the people are in the foreground, but toward the end they looked completely destroyed, as well they should. Few people can sing Karen's songs well, imho. Bravo.
