  • @corvanjer Seems pretty legit to me.

  • @BobTheBuilder378 Kyokushin karate

  • i had this done on me by a fifth degree black belt. I was on a mat, but i practically got a concussion. my fault. I didn't ki-ai when break falling, so i didn't absorb the impact. just goes to show how deadly this take down could be if the opponent didn't fall properly, or was on concrete.

  • @pwndboi225 studying karate (or any martial art) doesnt mean u know what u know by reading.. it could mean, trying out other styles for experience as well .. but there are so many styles, u HAVE to do some reading if u wanna know everything ....... in fight, experience teaches u - the details of the sport is just something u know :)

  • Karate has different styles shotokan and those competition martial arts are not as good as traditional martial arts shotokai for self defence I dont think the people of okinawa would adopt karate if they found it was useless in self defence karate was origianlly "temple boxing." I like the way to say you have studied martial arts that just makes you sound queer and know what you know by reading.

  • I must admit, in that situation I just kick the supporting knee. This is a good and less dangerous technique.

  • @pwndboi225 No, you T.H.I.N.K. that she could. And that's the comic thing about of tradtional martial artists (the gap between what you "think" you can do and what you actually can do). I studied Karate for four years, and placed in National competition. My school was full of people who believed they were honing potentially lethal skill but had never been in a single fight in their lives. I used the phrase "mental masturbation," and I believe it's quite apt.

  • @BobTheBuilder378 Don't lie I know a 60 year old lady black belt that could take on 10 of your average joes and kick the shit into all of them.

  • @pwndboi225 OMG, stop it! Lethality?? This is exactly the kind of mental masturbation which accounts for Karate people getting destroyed by average joes in real fights. You stand in front of a mirror and throw punches into thin air. Then you partner up and train to defend against people who throw one attack and freeze as if time stood still. Then you spar and break it up after every miserable, half-ass body shot... Then you get into a real fight and get taken to the ground and go home crying.

  • @Julezovica Well, I definitely am a troll. But I wasn't trolling here. Karate practicioners train in just about the most unrealistic and useless ways possible. Probably only 10% of them are prepared to use their skills effectively in a real fight. And the majority of that 10% were just tough dudes to begin with (karate or no).
