  • I think Peter is right, he's not saying that human rights is bad. But I think he's trying to make the point that the idea of universal rights is something pushed onto the international community by wealthy developed nations in an almost arrogant and unthoughtful way. And the point that China is not a liberal democracy, therefore its somehow inferior to other countries who have that governance is total bollocks. What's the point of the vote, if it can be bought for $1 and there's no food?
