In this case the fluid is air. The helium inside of the balloon is initially less dense than the air, so the buoyant force on it is more than its weight, causing it to rise. Helium diffuses out of the side of the balloon, as everyone knows. As the helium diffuses, the volume shrinks, and it gains density. Once the baloon has the same density as air, it will neither sink nor float.

I see nothing eerie about this video; it's science. Only those ignorant of such mechanics are puzzled by such a simply event.^^
