I so remember that "Newsvan" promo. I think there was another one showing home movies of that tourist family in City Park looking for some of that "mardi grass."

I drove that live truck in those days, and for decades after. Even twenty years later, bystanders would yell "There goes that newsvan again!" It was a very successful promo campaign.

This was when WVUE was an ABC affiliate until 1996.

I worked at WVUE back in the early eighties and was lucky to produce some of the stations promos. We had a great team of people back then. These spots were great. They were produced before I got there.

Do you mean ED MARTEN? Eric Martin played for the Saints.

Believe they were done by a company out of Philadelphia area called New York Productions. Great stuff.

I remember WABC doing these well into the 1990's.
