Yes James Rivers is the best. I go way back with him at Mel's Lounge in the 70's with Cush, John, Leroy, The Beer Man and I think one other guy who wore a big apple hat. We'd bump all night in that whole in the wall. Everyone got along and no crime. Those were the days...Thanks for the memories and GOD bless James Rivers.

Wonderfully Said ,,,I have seen James about 8 to 10 times, and I LOVE his music,,, I grew up in the 7th ward,, and listed to Chocolate Milk ,, they practiced in a garage off of Florida Ave,,I was there all the time listening,,, and I Knew most of the band members,, they had some good albums.. and then sizzled out. ,, tks for looking ,,,, take care,,, Cavalier

James Rivers is one of the greatest gems in New Orleans music that has never received the accolades he and his band deserve. I used to live across the street from James and on sunday mornings we could hear incredible music floating through the hot humid air while he played on one of his many instruments. To hear him play amazing grace on the bagpipes - is an unforgettable experience.  If anyone can post more of his songs - N'awlins would appreciate getting him out there.
