PART 2 Connecting Strong Miter Corners. DiY Wooden Frame.

This is a simple alternative to the soda pop can solar furnace. Simply placing a black backer behind glass with a very thin air gap allows for maximum air mixture. In later videos we will testing some 12v blower fans for different CU volume.

  • I see a you tube video that used drain gutters and was producing 220 deg @ 40 deg out side temp. I like the simplicity of yours though. Any thought on how to get the temp higher?

  • @Tomigun101 DOUBLE PANE GLASS with argon seal fill. Or find a window that is in good condition. Lowes marks them at 70% off because they were custom and the size was wrong. I got 15 for $21 each, regular price $250, I used most of them of windows:-) But I have one left I will be testing. ALSO ADDING THIS:

  • Why did you have to Miter the joints ? Wouldn't a butt-joint work as well to make a rectangular frame and much faster ?

  • Your glass looks tinted wouldn't it be more effective with clear glass??

  • what would happen if you used a fresnel lens instead of a pane of glass?

  • @united4mi it will crack the glass because wood expands and contracts in the hot and cold.

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE I found old Beer cooler doors from a Convenience store... Perfect!

  • @Tomigun101 hi one could also put the glass in before screwing in the last piece of wood to ensure a tight grip on the pain!

  • you guys act like this is all new "green " technology , people have been using this same technology for ages to produce heat . Has anyone ever heard of a gardening tool called a "cold frame" ?
