Anti-Gay Protest at San Diego High School: Part 1

On October 16, 2009, the Westboro Baptist Church, an independent church commonly recognized as a hate group, boycotted against San Diego High School's GSA (Gay and Straight Alliance) club.

La Jolla Country Day School's own GSA, in alliance with coordinators at San Diego High School, organized a group of Country Day students to attend the counter-protest (bucking the Westboro Baptist Church).

Palette staff member Katrina Ilich ('10), senior Taylor Golia and senior Austin Chen were in attendance to document the proceedings.

Here, they interview students and various bystanders.
