There were not many military targets left, so the Amercian pilot shots on all that was moving. In my hometown of Radolfzell they wounded a local baker while he was outside opening his shop....maybe they tried to cut down food supplies for the people left at home....no strategic use as far as I can see. It was taking revenge for Nazi war crimes

Can`t really agree that shooting up farm buildings, horse and carts etc is a particuarly heroic act. Although, I am sure that the pilots did encounter danger getting this far into Germany.

They didnt give up even after we fire bombed 7 of thier major cities killing millions. It took the explosion of two nukes on civilians to get them to surrender and guess what? IF they didnt surrender after just two of them. America would have dropped another and another. To completley stop Japans power to make war because they were trying to conquer half of the globe.

@Avalon400 con't... and told soldiers that they had no idea what was happening. Get over it. My facts far outweigh your emotional cry of injustice. The war was terrible, far beyond what you and I can comprehend. Also, if you are so detailed here, why "over 600,000" as your number? The number was higher than that and the Germans kept incredibly good records, so why broad brush it. I know all about "Bomber Harris" and his belief that bombing would win. No BS here just facts as recorded.

If you wish to discuss facts, I have studied this conflict from all angles for more than 35yrs. I have talked to hundreds that fought in this war and heard their stories. I know what I am talking about far more than you and your emotions. Civilians killed? You mean the ones that built and supplied the German war machine? Or the one's that watched the death camps con't...

Oh I see...it has to be one-sided for the case of ignorance. Sure there were rogue pilots that strafed civilians, a very small number. This post alone shows your knowledge is quite small concerning this conflict and you run on emotion more than fact. Yeah the bombings killed many..so what. They started it, they deserved it
