Sunny day but a little breezy today. Too bad couldn't come out earlier. Decided this was the day to try my 1st ever flip (inverted flight). To be honest I'm not good at inverted hover yet but I figure I can hopefully flip it right side up if I lose orientation. And most importantly, the mCPx is so durable that little to no damage will happen if I bail out over grass.
First I tried with whatever setup I had for normal flying with on-board camera (i.e. bullet blades, low cyclic rates, and a little bit of positive pitch at mid-stick). Bad idea as I had less lift inverted than I expected. Eventually I put on the hi-performance blades and used high cyclic rates. The bird was a totally different beast than the setup with on-board camera.
The flips are terribly all over the place and with no real inverted "flying" in between, but I did it! First ever flip!
