Parker High School Arrest - Survivors - Birmingham

On Feb 12, 2009 police arrested 9 members of the Survivors Campus Life Tour team for peacefully handing out literature outside of Parker High on the public sidewalk. They spent 14-16 hours in jail. www.survivors.la

You cops got a hard enough job with out some politicians or politically connected boss steering you to violate someone's First Amendments rights. Don't be the pawn of some slob in the rear who got a phone call from some pro abort teacher. You put your lives on the line every day. Most state that I know of it is against the law to put signage on or between the sidewalk and the street. Most states have loitering laws. That would make how they were doing wrong by law. It will also depend on how the easement is worderd the city has for the sidewalk and grass from the sidewalk to the curb.

I remember when this happened. I am a student here. I did think it was a bit odd for a few white people to be on the school grounds doing that, since in this area, almost no white people exist. In my opinion, this is that racist crap they teach in that school. If the people want to express their views, let them.
