  • top stuff, the groove from french jazz 'bout late 1957/8.early mod classic.

  • great song here- the drummer is laying down a nice groove - looks so relaxed

  • @Krzyszczynski All good man, much respect for Georgie Fame:)

  • @daverow49 : Darn it, I meant to write conga!! What the hell got into my fingers? (You don't have to answer that.)

  • @Krzyszczynski It is in the 60s in England, what would you expect! Don't know if it was Epstein. Conga player not bongos. Yes it is jazz and he is playing what was considered the conventional grip for the time. I played exactly the same kit as Joe Morello in the 60s. He was jazz, I was blues. Bass drum size is the drummer's choice and not written in stone.

  • Mostly bored incomprehension, as far as I can see, on the part of the audience!

Is that Brian Epstein looking on from the side at 1.03?

Why was the bongo player kept out of shot so much? He was a full member of the band, dammit.

Unusual for a jazz drummer to be using the "matched grip". (I imagine he's a jazz rather than a rock/pop drummer, 'cos he's using a jazz kit, with the smaller bass drum.)

  • awesomeeeee :D

  • I LOVE this song. Thanks for posting, mate.
