No, because he like many others didn't agree that the Iraq war was legitimate. Saddam wasn't Hitler. And I don't think his mothers role in WW2 was nothing more than a response to a stupid comment. He talks about his father war, but does he seem to agree with that ?

You look Fisk in a fiercely critical way, which is fine. But don't try and make him out to be a Saddam lover, that's preposterous. I have never seen Fisk condone violence in any way.

@trollfinger Robert Fisk has stated that he is a pacifist. That does not square well with the statement that he should be proud of his mother’s role repairing Spitfires in WW2.

Perhaps he should say he is proud of his mother AND those who overthrew Saddam Hussein.

The biggest problem that people have with Robert Fisk is that he consistently tells the truth. In the context of the Middle East and particularly Israel this is simply unforgivable.

What makes you believe he is pro Saddam ? If you read his book properly you would know how anti Saddam he is. It's funny that you send people messages with quotes from his books that you have taken out of context. And it makes you look like a fool.

About his mother, If you were listening you would know he was responding to a letter which claimed his mother was the daughter of Adolf Eichmann, in which he replied "my mother was fixing damaged spitfires during the war."
