Sensei Enoeda demonstrates kuzushi waza (unbalancing) in this rare JKA footage, with his usual Shotokan Tiger ferocity.
This demonstration is featured in the Best Karate series of books in one of the Kumite editions.

  • Any technique will work if the opponent just stands there :op. But this technique does actually work in a fight, even against trained fighters. If you read the other comments, you'll see this mentioned twice now.

  • watch machida vs nakamura, sokoudjou, or thiago silva. he sweeps all three of them with this technique.

  • lyoto machida has used this technique in a recent fight

  • My sensei was one of his students before he sadly passed away and I'm always told small stories about how he'd fail someone on a grading for not having tight enough fists, and after watching this I actually realise how good he actually is.

  • Nice, fast and professional done :)

  • The one, the only Shotokan Tiger, Eneoda sensei. Fantastic teacher, both in stlye and compassion..rest in peace sensei

  • @bugfights It has even been used in ufc by lyoto machida, anything else you wanna say?

  • The technique itself works, it's obvious that overtime it's been practiced to be executed with a more modern approach (Lyoto Machida). This video serves to show its roots. I don't know why people need to criticize and suggest ways to counter-attack when they clearly have no experience, let alone knowledge, in fighting.

  • Grande oss

  • Does anybody know if this technique exists in Judo and if the name is the same? Thank you!

  • @pingman1221 lyoto machida

  • anyone who says a certain technique is useless is just simply a failure.

  • Who has video of Frank Smith?
