Here's one way to say a traditional Chinese wedding blessing:

Wish you two:
祝你们:
Zhu (4) Ni (3) Men (2)

May you respect each other like honored guests,
相敬如宾
Xiang(1) Jing(4) Ru (2) Bin (1)
may you always see heart to heart like reflections of
each other,
心心相印
Xin(1) Xin(1) Xiang(1) Yin(4)
may fragrant flowers bloom and full moon shine over your life together,
花好月圆
Hua(1) Hao(3) Yue(4) Yuan(2)
may your joy and happiness be for ever and more.
百年好合
Bai (3) Nian (2) Hao (3) He (2)

Some traditional symbols used at weddings:

Ai (4) * sounds like "aye"
Love

喜喜
Xi (3) * sounds like "shee"
Double happiness

  • Um, actually I WAS born and raised in China and I'm a published author in Chinese... I don't believe I got this one wrong. If it's wrong - what's your suggestion to correct it?

  • Thank you for the videos. I have been to Shanghai many times before and enjoyed myself. Your videos are very helpful. Your english is perfect. Keep the videos coming.

When I was in Shanghai, I went to the zoo and the aquarium, and a museum. It was very fun. Last time I was there was April/May of this year.

I was given a gift when I was there and was wondering if I posted a picture if you could tell me what it is. Thanks.

  • sure, i'll try my best.

  • Doesn't xing xing mean star? What is the meaning here?

  • 星星 Xing(1) Xing(5) means star and 心心 Xin(1) Xin(1) means heart (both characters means heart so in this case it means heart to heart.
