  • Very good! Please note that she is placing her head on her left upper arm. When sleeping the same way, put the pillow between your arm and your head. More air is allowed in the chest. To follow through, place her right knee behind her left knee to allow stretch and abduction of the right hip. Flip over and do the same for the left side. Insure that the spine is lengthened and the neck is aligned with the more straightened and lengthened back. i.e. the head is brought back an inch or two

  • What exactly are you testing for by doing this? The title says Hip ABD but your goiniometer is in a position to measure hip flexion or extension. To measure hip ABD why would you not just have the pt in supine and measure from there that way they don't have to hold their leg up.
