My Favorite Android Apps: Maps

A brief tutorial of Google Maps--I've only scratched the surface here.

Google maps inclucdes: maps, location search, turn-by-turn navigation, gps, street view, latitude, places, site pages, check-ins, hotpot, walking and biking routes, terrain and satellite views, re-routing and live traffic, Buzz and Wikipedia integration, my maps, my places, 3D building models...it integrates with voice control, it enables you to better understand your surroundings, and it's constantly getting new features.

Google Maps is a beast.

I've been the navigator for some jobs over the last year and a half because of how well my Droid¹ (and Google Maps) helped us avoid traffic, find great restaurants, find hotels and pretty much get us where ever we needed to go.

I'm planning on passing the torch and your overview is really a great place to start for my coworker and his newly-acquired android phone. Thanks Kangaruhs.
