Influence of media - Short film

A shortfilm I made for my Media exam, june 2010.

My asignment where to show what influence media had to our society. What my idea by this where to show the audience how media (violent movies) could affect children in the age of 12-16.

As my part being a short film artist trying to enlight the people who cared to watch my films in festivals and what not. Give other artist ideas of their own by watching mine.
The message of this, by putting it in a situation would be if you asked a random person walking by or sitting next to you in the busstation. You ask him or her: How do you think children get effected by watching a violent movie? And the person you would ask whould probably say to you that the children would not have good of it and might, by long term be influenced by the movie and do violent stuff. But what if?
If we take a look on the the katarsis-theory: Persons with aggressive and violent tendensees have the oppurtunity to live out this tendencies throutgh experienses in the games or movies.
This is just a theroy I myself based my short film on. Surely I don't agree to this theory at all but it is what we would expect children in a fragile age would be influenced by.
This movie on another hand is revealing the oposite actions than the theory and the nice little lady on the busstop, that gave you her time to answer your little question. It is revealing that even though people might have tendensy to act violently after playing alot of violent games and watching violent movies. Doesn't mean that everyone do. Take this little kid for example. Joakim, after he is exposed to the violent movie, he sees what the gun can do and even at his young age he can see the difference of good and evil and he went into his brothers room to make his brother get rid of the weapon he got hiding in his drawer. A good propper end to this short film, it turned out a way you didn't really expect.

@slik7545 Won't be alot of these shorts in a while, my friend. My year in school is over. As is my film class and my equipments :P

But after the summer I will begin my collage years studying 3D filmanimation. Lets see if that will bring some new interesting stuff to my youtube films :)
