Bryce Harper Plunked By Cole Hamels

This surprised and disappointed me, even though I am a life-long Phillies fan, because the pitch was not a result of Harper "showing up" Hamels, showboating, or in retaliation for a prior hard take-out slide by a Nationals player. Is what Hamels did a legitimate old school style of play? Or did it go beyond the customs of the unwritten code of baseball?

My novel A Pitch for Justice, imagines a dire consequence of baseball's code which leads to a criminal investigation and prosecution.

The pitcher has every right. Stop acting like baseball has always been the hitter's game and not the pitcher's advantage, cause it never has been and never should be. If anything, you should be happy Nats fans when one of your players gets plunked, cause then you have a baserunner and one that can run at that. It's basically a baserunner for free, so suck it up. Lesson learned for youngsters, it's the pitcher's game and don't you ever forget it. By the way I'm neither a Nats nor Phillies fan.
