it is one of my favorite modern symphonies. Brilliant, bold and innovative.
The orchestra and the conductor played it beautifully.

@StuderRevox How does the hall determine this? What would have to be different about the quality of sound in 2 different places to have to place tenuto in one and staccato in the other?

Just for your information...having worked with Gergiev for YEARS...Gergiev is one conductor that changes the colour of an orchestra according to the hall we play in!! No repeat will ever be the same with him...so whether we play dote or lines..depends on the hall and what it requires...that's an artist of the HIGHEST calibre!!! Look at the music and see what the music is really saying!!
