"Dream" is my original tatting design. The video shows several ways of
using beads in tatting, as I make the pendant. The pattern for "Dream" is available free on my tatting blog, http://yarnplayertats.blogspot.com/

  • Yes, it is one thread, wound on both shuttles. Sometimes called the "continuous thread method".

  • Travelpaintress, there are 2 methods of adding beads shown in this video: strung beads that dangle from picots, and beads placed on picots. The strung beads are not used until the 2nd round of tatting - those are the beads that will dangle from picots on the outer rings. The beads surrounding the center ring are placed on picots, and then those picots are joined to later by joining to the end of the picot that is sticking out of the bead.

  • Is there only one thread wound on both shuttles?

  • Can you please give me some advice? I have strung the beads, but, when I watch the vide it seems I should add the beads to the centre ring as I go along, using paperclips. I am confused, but really want to tat this

  • this video is so helpful. I have tried the pattern without success, because I am not familiar with using paperclips - I will try again. I love your patterns which have been invaluable in my tatting journey. Thank you

  • Excelente video, muy claro. Gracias

  • This was great, thank you! Managing beads section was especially helpful, as I just wasn't "getting it" before I saw this.
