Fourth-graders at Hope Elementary School in Carlsbad, CA learned the value of a dollar through a creative program called Classroom Economy, created by teacher Kelly Szabo. Over the school year, students tracked their expenses in their checkbooks for things like desk rental and supplies such as pens and pencils. They earned money through good work and proper classroom behavior.
