WoF 1/9/09: No Elbow Room for Mistakes

One other oddity I scratched out: the first toss-up was a PHRASE, FRONT AND CENTER, solved by Tom (who earned over $10,000 cash w/o using the $2500 in Round 1, and the prize puzzle, to earn all that total before). Yet Daniels said BREAD AND CHEESE. Seems to be consistent with his Final Round... :/

Also notable is that a "Bonus Round shutout", where no bonus puzzles are solved during the entire week, was still alive coming into tonight. Even worse, we were only 1/14 snice 12/22/08.

Very nice credit roll with full extended theme and invoking video to end the week (56 seconds). Guess they were saving up for this...also the only time we see the contestant in any part of the credits.

Strangely, Tom solved the last puzzle (not the bonus round puzzle) without calling a letter first. There were only vowels left so it didn't affect the score, but I wonder if anyone has ever mistakenly done that with consonants still left on the board and missed out on potential money. >_>

Oh yeah, that happens occasionally. Sometimes Pat points it out, but all times I yell at the contestant who thought a bit too quickly. :P
