Michael Bussee, one of the founders of Exodus International, the largest "exgay" organization in the nation is now a gay man who speaks out against Exodus. After co-founding Exodus Bussee fell in love with another "ex-gay" Gary Cooper. As expected Bussee and Cooper lost their entire church social network and remained silent about the "exgay" issue for many years. Cooper contracted HIV and shortly thereafter saw the Rev. Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition claiming Exodus was "tremendously successful" to justify his war on the civil rights of gay people. Bussee and Cooper felt they could no longer remain silent and came out in the media as "ex-ex-gay" declaring conversion therapy as ineffective.

  • Uh, straight people can't change into being gay any more than gay people can turn straight. FACT!!! Leave ppl alone. Mind ur OWN business ...

  • @LettersOfCentinel76 And you know this how? Apparently, YOU have a problem with monogamy and are projecting it onto others.

  • @MPaulHolmes Well, hopefully you wouldn't just make a decision based on how much you wanted it. Even without religion, basic human morality is about thinking about how doing something helps you AND the people around you.

  • @Dave175 Regular judgment? You mean let the final authority of what's right and wrong come from inside my head? I think something's OK because I really really want to do it?

  • @MPaulHolmes That's true, but you could also argue that only using one book to determine what is right and wrong based only on when it was first written instead of using regular judgement is equally as lazy.

  • @Dave175 It happened because it happened? Now, that sounds pretty intellectually lazy to me. Who says our lives are already planned out? God allows us to choose.

  • @MPaulHolmes Well, something came from nothing just because it happened. It didn't need a reason, it just happened. Life just kind of works that way. Stuff happens because it can, not because of any predestined plan. We can't have free will if our lives have already been planned out by a higher power.

  • @Dave175 I'm talking about the reason there is something rather than nothing. 13.7 billion years ago the universe started. I'm not talking about "Polar Express" real. I'm talking about real life. If I "believe" then something's real? no.

  • @MPaulHolmes Jews have a tendency not to act like religions that came after them. Except for Jews For Jesus, but we aren't exactly proud of that tangent.

  • @MPaulHolmes Basically, God is as real as those other Gods. In that you only need to believe in order for them to be real.
