Sad, just very, very sad that we live in a country that does this. Our tax dollars hard @ work.

BS - these poisons are being used now! We should NOT be funding this - millions spent! Tell you elected officials and Obama NO MORE FUNDING FOR SPECIAL INTERESTS AND NO MORE WILDLIFE KILLING! THIS IS DESPICABLE! NO CONTROL ON THIS!

@arcticthunder66 REALLY?? Go to the USDA's web site, search 1080 poison and then tell me it is banned!!!

I heard no evidence that a govt. agency actually placed the device, Probably placed by a ranger and forgotten, Too bad abouy your dogs, thats why I always leash my dogs, Also predator control is not a free for all methods and takes are scientificalyy backed and carried out by trained proffesionals. If all the govt did was masacre wildlife all the animals listed would be extinct, Ranchers are also educated on alternative methods

Bravo!!!!

Arcticthunder66 WHO is misinformed. Get your facts straight please. This continues to go on because of people like you that are so easily bamboozled. Wake up and smell the poison.

Misinformed PETA propaganda. No one still uses compound 1080, it has been outlawed for 30 or more years.

I learned about this agency in a pro-wolf blog called "Howling for Justice". They waste millions of tax dollars each year to kill coyotes, wolves, bears, bobcats, eagles, mountain lions, etc. If they used that money to reimburse ranchers for their losses plus giving them sheep sheds, guard dogs, llamas, etc and educating the public about more ways to build up a co-existence with predators instead of just gunning them down by this irresponsible agencies, all these accidents could be prevented.
I guess it's way too damn practical to raise sheepherding dogs who've been breed for centuries for the specific purpose of protecting sheep from predators. These ranchers and Bureau of Land Maggot employees are assholes.

@arcticthunder66 how is that possible there was just recently a story released about a young female wolf that had traveled from Montanan to Colorado only to die because of compound 1080
