2,850 mile drive time-lapsed in 3 minutes. Approximate visual speed of 57,000 MPH.

Photos captured every 30 seconds from the dash while traveling. Equipment used was an ancient Unisys 486 running linux and an original generation color quick cam.

The path starts in Boiling Springs Lake, NC and goes to San Jose, CA. The journey starts west on I-40 and then cuts northwest through West Virginia, Ohio, and Illinois to meet the I-80 corridor.

Momentary glimpses include: the battleship USS North Carolina in Wilmington NC, the Days Inn south of Charleston WV, visible changing weather patterns across Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming, and extended sunset into night-driving in Wyoming, the salt-lake desert south of Salt Lake City UT, a quick exit from Reno and the crossing of the mountains near Donner pass. Once in the San Francisco bay area, it cuts down easy bay on 680 to the house that was my goal in southern San Jose.
