James Taylor performing "Sweet Baby James" from September 13, 1970 on BBC. This performance is from a show called "James Taylor in Concert: Sings James Taylor." As many of you may know, this song was written for his nephew James back in 1969 while he was traveling back to North Carolina.
Thank you everyone for the positive feedback on this video and about James Taylor, I am glad that they are still a bunch of people out there that enjoy music that isn't always heard as much now a days. Thank you and I hope that you take the time to view some of my other uploaded videos.

I was 19 when this came out, I'll be 62 in November .... A lot of years past. This song still makes me want to waltz through the Berkshires light and breezy, on a Spring day.

My father used to play these songs around the campfire. It makes remember how good of a father he was. It brings tears to my eyes..

JT's voice gets better with age. My husband and I went to see him a year ago, and it was one of the best shows we've ever been to. Such an amazing singer/songwriter, and so very fortunate to have gotten the chance to see him live. Hearing him sing this live was simply beautiful!

Yes, of course, you are entitled to say that, just as I voice my dissent during the Bush years. What I am suggesting is that performing for a president you don't like doesn't mean it's James Taylor who's "back in the dark abyss." I still love Lionel Hampton, for instance, and he played for Bush. Anyway. All the best to you.

I am as generous a spirit as they come, and I don't mind saying it. I believe in whatever you dole out, it will come back to grace you 10 fold (if it's goodness), or come back to bite your ass (if your acts are evil). What goes around comes around. I have been a JT fan for over 40 years. That said, I believe JT is playing great music for a loser of a man, a great deceiver, an imposter, a narcissist, and a liar. Hey, I'm entitled to think so, and to say so.

It has also occurred to me that your dismay at James Taylor's choices, formed, as you rightly point out, by life's turmoil, says more about you than it says about Mr Taylor. Anyone who knows Mr. Taylor understands him to be kind, caring, generous, and intelligent - traits we should all possess. So while you criticize him for entertaining Mr. Obama, perhaps you could do some soul searching about what is truly important in our lives and our society. Generosity of spirit goes a long way.
