York Water Main, Pipe Lining In York 2008

This short film is dedicated to the teams that clean and repair our water mains throughout the UK. This was filmed in York in 2008 and shows a cleaned water main in the process of being spray lined. Work like this has been ongoing for over 10 years around Yorkshire, you may have seen it but taken no notice. It has been edited for your viewing pleasure.

i did this job back in 69 in knokke belgium,,, only procedure i recognize is the pipe and hole....! no hlth n safety back then,,,,just me flat on my back on a buggy with a rope round my waist shoving with mi heels for 100yds so as to tie the rope to the "winch and then pull that back,, lovely with the odd puddle runnin down yer back,,,,,,,,,,ha,,,,,,,,,"TECH­NOLOGY, what beautiful word

Thanks for your comments, lots of the lads on the gangs remember the rat down a drain pipe approach to mains cleaning! Almost like the great escape. Technology keeps you cleaner for longer!

i think its a disgrace that no one takes water for granted and i think you should be thanked and all those that work along side you for all the hard work you put in.
