Terraria : killing the eater of worlds ( for noobs ) [OLD]

hey look at the date.... i know its old right?

for this method you will need
vile powder and potions
to get vile powder you need to get some sand, then make some glass, make a bottle, and place that bottle on your workbench to create an alchemy station. using that you can make potions or "vile powder"

to get vile powder you must go to the corruption and collect vile mushrooms.
the 2 ways to summon the eater of worlds is too destroy 3 shadow orbs or combine 15 vile powder and 10 rotten meat at a demonic alter ( a spiky black thing found in the corruption or underground randomly

during the fight it would be best to do what i did and make an area slightly above ground out of wooden platforms that you can attack through. vile powder has the ability to stay in a area and deal damage to any enemy.
keep in mind this is for your first fight only because you cant get anything past gold without killing this thing. i do believe that you can still mine meteorite but the only thing you can get from that is a phaseblade. if you want to farm this creature. id recommend a blue moon, sun fury, or muramursa, only use muramursa if you have feral claws or shadow armor because attack speed is better than raw power

@TheStoffl96 vile powder is found in the place if you are playing on softcore which was the default when i made this video you could easily collect 20 vile shrooms and make plenty of powder.... just cause i had end game weapons and armor doesnt mean this tactic wont work for someone with no armor or weapons.... hell a gold sword works...

I'm not sure why you are making it so complicated. It's really really easy. 1) Go to a confined space (3x3) with the Harpoon. 2) Point in any direction and hold the button down until it's dead. The end.
