Then the guy was like... "Oh, yeah... I shot him in the head."  The sad thing, is he actually got convicted and served several years in prison for that murder.

This is a classic case of tellin' a detective what you think they want to hear, just to speed up/end the interrogation process. I remember I was watchin' an episode of "Forensic Files" and mentally ill man was accused of murderin' someone and the police fed him details of the crime. They were like... "So what was the murder weapon?" The guy took several wild guesses (i.e. hammer, knife, plastic bag, etc...), 'til the officer told him that the cause of death was a gunshot wound in the head .

"Street hooker" does not dismiss someone from the human race, true or untrue. She had a loving parent, she was a "person," and if it were my daughter I would hope that she would encounter someone with a good heart and the strength of will and body to protect her, if only from herself.
